Abstract

The development of research methods for corrosion under droplets during atmospheric corrosion is reviewed. With the revolution of experimental technology, the corrosion under droplet has been investigated deeply. Main measuring techniques include microscopy, environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM), Kelvin probe, atom force microscopy (AFM), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and so on. Using these modern measurements, the mechanism research of corrosion under droplets has been promoted. The development trend of droplet corrosion research will be in-situ monitoring technology and atomic scale observation.
