Abstract
Most sketch-based systems emphasize on shape description of design intention, but the implicit information related to users' thinking is not fully taken into account during the design. On the other hand, current interaction modes of the pen in the sketch systems can hardly meet the requirements for natural and flexible expression of design intentions. Based on the analysis on the features of domain object and interaction process, an intelligent sketch-based framework for design capture (ISF) is proposed so as to create design prototype quickly. By accounting for the context of task, environment as well as user preference, we set up an interactive model to conduct the mapping from physical device to logical tools. Our prototype system demonstrates that ISF can provide guidance to sketch-based application design, and support natural and flexible user interaction.
