Abstract

This paper firstly concisely introduces the research background of CoSim-Grid, and presents the connotation, architecture and the implementation scheme of simulation grid; then combined with authors' ongoing project on simulation grid, the phased research achievements of simulation grid project are introduced in detail, including simulation grid prototype named CoSim-Grid 1. Ov and developed by authors, parts of solved key technologies and some typical application demonstration systems of CoSim-Grid. It is shown from the primary practice that CoSim-Grid developed by authors has the following new features: (1) The architecture of service oriented, semantic based simulation grid is put forward based on HLA technology, PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) technology, Grid/Web Service technology, etc. This architecture overcomes shortcomings of traditional networkitized M&S application on dynamical share, autonomy, fault tolerant, capability of collaboration and security mechanism. (2) A simulation grid prototype named CoSim-Grid 1. Ov has independent copyright and is suitable for networkitized simulation application. It consists of simulation application oriented grid portal, simulation grid problem-solving environments, simulation collaborative application oriented service middleware, resources collaborative application oriented grid middleware and the simulation grid resources including various encapsulated model resources, simulation tool resources, computing resources, storage resources, data resources, information resources and knowledge resources, etc. It extends distributed simulation application pattern and implements new collaborative simulation method based on Internet and grid. (3) The simulation grid presented in this paper, expands the application fields of grid technology, and overcomes the shortcomings of collaborative work existing in computing grid and data grid. Finally, the conclusion and some further works are given.
