Abstract

While failed components in a system is being repaired, preventive maintenance (PM) may be conducted on the other components to improve the system performance. Several recently published papers have discussed related maintenance policies to optimize the costs. They only consider costs of repair, but not the capacity of repairmen. This paper discusses component maintenance policies based on the number of repairmen. It investigates the role of the number of repairmen under different scenarios, and discusses specific maintenance policies with the consideration of the maintenance quantity and cost constraints. Then A reactor coolant system is used as a case study to illustrate the applicability of the proposed methods.
