title = "Reliability analysis of space mechanism considering performance degradation and dynamic time-variant characteristics",
abstract = "The space mechanisms working in the harsh conditions are the indispensable and important components of the modern space vehicles, which are hard to get to repair and maintain. The reliability problem of space mechanisms is one of the main difficulties in space technology in the world, since it shows significantly cascade and coupling characteristics. The performance degradation of the space mechanisms results in the dynamic time-variant characteristic of the reliability problem, which increases the complexity of the reliability analysis. The dynamic cascade coupling reliability model can describe the dynamic time-variant characteristic of the space mechanisms perfectly, whose characterization parameters need to be determined by experiments. In this paper, a semi-empirical generalized modern of degradation mechanism is established through the performance degradation experiment of the shafting components, optimizing the dynamic cascade coupling reliability model. The reliability analysis of a two-axis-position mechanism is completed using the optimal dynamic cascade coupling reliability model, showing that this method can describe the dynamic time-variant characteristics.",
