Abstract

A physical method was used in recycling of waste printed circuit boards (PCB). The feasibility of the nonmetal materials to be used in polypropylene (PP) composites as filler was studied and mechanical properties of the composite material were analyzed in the experiment. The result shows that when nonmetal powders reclaimed from waste PCB, finer than 300 meshes, were filled in PP, such mechanical properties of PP composites as the flexural modulus, flexural strength and tensile strength increase by 143%, 69% and 59% respectively. Therefore, filling nonmetal powders reclaimed from waste PCB in PP composites is a feasible way to reuse waste PCB.
