Abstract

Fuzzy uncertainty texture spectrum (PUTS) is applied for the pattern recognition of fracture surface morphologies. Linear minor distance classifier is used to classify five typical fracture surface morphologies, including equiaxed dimple, elongated dimple, cleavage failure, fatigue and inter-granular cracking. With testing results, the method of FUTS is highly efficient in fracture morphologies classification.
