Abstract
Based on the Lorentz-Mie theory, the computation methods for radiation characteristics of Al2O3 particles, including scattering cross-section, absorption cross-section, scattering coefficient and absorption coefficient, were established. Then the computation methods for radiation characteristics of particle clouds were derived on the assumption that the particle scattering was single and independent. Radiation characteristics of Al2O3 particles within 2-5 μm spectrum in the exhaust system of aluminized solid motor propellant were calculated by the method. The results show that the computation methods for radiation characteristics of Al2O3 particles on the basis of Lorentz-Mie theory are effective and reliable.
