Profile 2D stretch-wrap bending machine animation and jaw trajectory automatic generation

Abstract

A machine animation system was developed based on MATLAB to simulate 2D stretch-wrap bending process of profiles under the displacement control forming mode. The system is able to generate the trajectory of jaws according to given deformation level and output the displacement or velocity boundary conditions for dynamic-explicit finite element simulation of the bending process, which are difficult to determine manually. Based on the simulation, the trajectory of jaws can be adjusted iteratively until the optimization is realized.
