Abstract

Conducting polyaniline (PAn) is synthesized in the SIS (Styrene-isoprene-styrene) matrix by the in-situ polymerization to form an uniformly mixed SIS-PAn conductive rubber membrane with the back (in contact with the glass) being conductive while the upside one being insulating thereof. The surface resistance and the conductivity of the conductive composite membrane are of 300 Ω/□ and 0.07 S·cm-1, respectively, while the content of PAn in the membrane is only of 5.8% (or the feeding ratio of An/SIS is of 0.2). The effect of the preparation conditions including the content of PAn, acid, oxidant, surfactant and cross-linker, as well as the mold material on conductive properties of SIS/PAn membrane are analyzed.
