Abstract
Si-Fe composites were prepared by ball-milling a mixture of Si and Fe powders. The morphology, phase structures and electrochemical performances of the composites were investigated after ball-milling and annealing. An industrial Si-Fe alloy material was studied as a comparison. The results show that Si-Fe alloy phase generated in the composites after ball-milling can improve the cyclic performance of Si. By comparing the Si-Fe alloy with the industrial Si-Fe alloy, it is shown that alloying degree affects the electrochemical performance of alloy materials. Annealing process can improve the electrochemical performance of the composite to some extent.
