Abstract

A new BN coatings was prepared by using boric acid and urea through three methods: embedding, one step, two step. The phase and the structure of the coatings was examined by XRD and FTIR, and the heat stability was analyzed by DTA, then the micro patterns was observed by SEM. Furthermore, the theory was discussed elementarily. The result shows that BN coatings can be prepared by all the three means, but the two-step method is the best way. The coatings are h-BN, smoothly and purely, and with high temperature stability top to 1000°C. And the reaction process is controlled by the urea under a complex reaction principle.
