Abstract
The positron-lifetime spectrum have been measured in Ca-substituted YBa2Cu4O8 systems with a doping level of 0 approx. 0.15. The local electron density ne and defect concentration Cd are also calculated as a function of substitution content. The results show that there exist a peak value at a level of 10% which correspond just right a highest Tc value. The characterization of positron annihilation and the connection with superconductivity are also discussed.
