Abstract

As a typical thin-walled workpiece, the machining performance of jet-engine rotor blade was affected very much by its positioning errors when held by fixtures. Aiming at the error control problem in keeping-aerofoil machining of jet-engine blade's near-net shaped formed, the dimensional errors accumulative process was modeled and its numerical calculation method was proposed based on 3D point cloud model of rotor workpiece. A Monte-Carlo random simulation method was presented to evaluate the positioning tolerance of rotor workpiece. A rotor blade in a jet-engine low pressure compressor was milled precisely, and the effectiveness of proposed method was validated by analyzing, evaluating and verifying the positioning error of workpieces.
