Abstract
Stable TiO2-H2O nanofluids are formulated by using the electrostatic stabilization method for nucleate pool boiling heat transfer experiments. The results show that the stable nanofluids significantly enhances boiling heat transfer. The enhancement increases with increasing particle concentration and reaches ∼50% at a particle concentration of 0.7% by volume. Discussion of the results suggests that the reported controversy in the pool boiling heat transfer behavior be associated with the properties and behavior of both nanofluids and boiling surface, as well as their interaction.
