Pilot Safety Performance Evaluation Based on Quick Access Recorder Data

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contributionpeer-review

Abstract

With the development of science and technology, aviation safety continues to improve, but pilot behavior remains a key factor in flight safety. Civil aviation safety performance management, particularly performance evaluation, is essential for formulating effective safety measures. Key parameters from the Quick Access Recorder (QAR) that reflect or affect flight safety are selected based on flight dynamics and operation analysis. These parameters are then transformed into pilot safety performance indicators based on aviation industry standard documents, forming an evaluation index system. Finally, pilot safety performance evaluation and sensitivity analysis of key factors for improving safety performance were achieved through fuzzy Bayesian method. This study provides theoretical model and data-driven decision support for airlines to assess the overall flight safety level and conduct targeted pilot training.
