Abstract

Ti-modified MCM-41 possessing well ordered long-range and pore structures has been prepared and characterized by XRD, low temperature N2 adsorption-desorption measurements, AAS, UV-visible diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and XPS technique. The hydroxylation of benzene was carried out using Ti-MCM-41 containing both framework and non-framework Ti centers as photocatalyst with molecular oxygen as oxidant in the absence of any co-oxidant species.
