Abstract
The error of the photo elasticity of loopy optic fiber coil will be affected significantly by the increase of its length and the number of coils. According to the photo elasticity of optic fiber, the mechanism of non-reciprocity phase of the Sagnac optical fiber coil caused by photo elasticity at vibration conditions is analyzed in this paper. And this mechanism can be used to study the vibration error of fiber optic gyroscope (FOG), which is mainly from the error of photo elasticity of the loopy optic fiber coil. The quantative analysis of the error is carried out by simulation, the same results can also be obtained by experiments. It can be concluded that the error of photo elasticity would become larger because of the longer fiber length and the smaller diameter of fiber coil.
