Abstract

The phases composition and electrochemical properties of (TiZr0.35) (V0.5Mn1.1-xCr0.4Nix) (x=0.7-1.0) hydrogen storage alloys have been investigated systematically. XRD and SEM observations show that all the alloys consist of C14 Laves main phase and TiNi-based secondary phase. The content of main phase increases and the lattice parameters of main phase decrease with Ni content increasing. Electrochemical measurements results show that the high-rate-discharge capability and the cycling stability are noticeably improved as the Ni content increases. It is found that the maximum discharge capability of 404 mAh/g has been got for the alloy when x=0.9.
