Abstract
The complexity of relative range change makes it difficult to use the analytic expression of range for spaceborne SAR imaging algorithm research. Usually, the approximation of satellite-ground geography for spaceborne SAR was applied and this sort of approximation is directly related with the availability of used imaging algorithms. The simple ideal flight model will produce enough phase error that imaging algorithms could not meet the requirement for high resolution spaceborne SAR system. A new phase history modeling method was introduced in this paper. The ideal flight model, constructed by using this approach, will effectively approximate the real imaging geography. So, this method can be availably used in the study of spaceborne SAR imaging algorithms.
