Abstract
Hybrid DS-SFH/SSMA (spread spectrum multiple access) packet radio network utilizing Reed-Solomon codes was introduced to analyze the throughput of a wireless network which employ RS coding and spread spectrum technology during fading. The system performance was accurately modeled with a simple computational model for multipath fading channels. The throughput was then computed for the RS code with comparisons of the performance of different systems. The SSMA systems significantly improve throughput performance, with the best throughput obtained by proper selection of the parameters. The systems with RS coding have better throughput performance with 6 dB gain.
