Abstract

In order to evaluate the performance of pavement crack silicone sealant, a variety of domestic and international specifications were analyzed, six evaluation indexes including tack free time, cure time, leveling, flow value, resilience and bond were proposed according to the requirements of pavement performance. Two imported sealants and two domestic sealants were tested. The results show that all the sealants are leveling materials, and their tack free time are no longer than 90minutes, cure time are between 2 and 3 weeks, resilience are more than 90%, flow value are 0mm at 90°C, and all the sealants passed 3 cycles at 100% extension at -30°C in the bond tests. It indicates that silicone sealant is high resilience material with the advantages of open traffic, easy to work, and superior high and low temperature performance. According to the test results, the technical requirements of the evaluation indexes are developed.
