Abstract

The impact of input signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) on the performance of synchronization based on one-bit quantization is discussed in this paper. We focus on the low input SNR multipath channel regime, and study the SNR of correlation peak, the matched filter output statistics and SNR loss using one-bit quantization compared to non-quantization. We demonstrate that in the real number domain, 2dB SNR loss is introduced by one-bit quantization, and the SNR loss in the case of complex number is shown in the simulation result.
