Abstract

On the basis of analyzing the invalidation reasons of the valve seat, the classification of the powder metallurgy valve seat and the rules of choosing materials, this paper designed a new kind of materials of valve seat for CNG (compressed natural gas) single-fuel engine. This new materials valve seat will be installed on the second and fourth cylinder of the test engine, and the valve seat on the first and third cylinder using the original materials remains unchanged. The cylinder pressure and valve's sinkage value were measured after 450 h durability test. The contrast test indicates that this new kind of material can meet the needs of CNG single-fuel engine.
