Abstract

A parametric model of a 5 kW PEMFC stack was established on the basis of mechanistic model of proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) and experimental results. The polarization curves of the stack were measured under different conditions. The parameters in the model were determined by means of multiple linear regressions, and the confidence interval of 95% confidence level was given. This model was applied to simulate the performance of the PEMFC stack. The results showed agreements between the modeling results and the experimental data. This model could be used to investigate the influence of process variables and for forecast of fuel cells and stacks, and for design optimization of fuel cell power system.
