Abstract

Oxidation behavior of natural graphite has been studied. The experimental results showed that the oxidation rate of natural graphite increases with the burn-off graphite at first, and achieves a steady maximal rate, finally the rate decreases with the burn-off graphite. At the steady rate period, the dependence of oxidation rate on temperature is in accordance with the Arrhenius equation. The activated energy of oxidation reaction is 38 kcal/mol.
