Abstract

Generally, for space deployable mechanisms, locking mechanisms with high stiffness are required to maintain the shape stability of the mechanism after deployment. The locking process inevitably introduces locking impact, which may cause the mechanism to vibrate or even lead to the damage of the mechanism. The dynamics model considering multiple revolute joint clearances is established and the locking impact forces are measured and analyzed. Furthermore, the control parameters of the actuating motors are optimized to reduce the locking impact forces. The multi-objective optimization is solved with the NSGA-II algorithm and a pareto set is obtained. Moreover, the locking impact forces before and optimization are compared, the results show that the maximum forces can be reduced by 4.4%, 51.9% and 3.3%, respectively, after optimization.
