Abstract
The capacity limited backhaul limits the performance of the coordinated multi-point transmission and reception (CoMP) networks in cellular mobile communication systems. For this reason, this paper addresses the issues of efficient backhaul resource utilization and cooperative gain improvement. The case that two base stations serve multiple users via uplink multi-carrier system is considered in this paper. A novel multi-point cooperative scheme based on user pairing and compress-and-forward relay technique was proposed with a joint optimization problem of user pairing, subcarrier mapping, compression noise design and backhaul capacity sharing between different pairs (subcarriers) being formulated. A low complexity algorithm based on alternating optimization strategy was proposed to solve this mixed integer programming problem. Simulation results show that this allocation algorithm significantly improves the system capacity compared with the random or fair alternatives.
