Abstract

Tunable metamaterials are the basics of programmable metamaterials. These kinds of structures are potential applications in some real-time control technology like THz communication. Here, a kind of structure in which transmission amplitude can be tuned by voltage and photoexcitation source. In addition, the photoexcitation source can tune the asymmetric ratio of this structure, which will result in Fano resonance strength weaken and even turn it off. This phenomenon will lead terahertz wave propagation to group delays. The transmission of this structure has three peaks, by control the voltage and photoexcitation source power, the resonance amplitude of three peaks can be tuned. The change of amplitude strength can carry 3-bit information, and the group delay can be used as error correction weight. This kind of structure is promising for communication.
