Abstract

The creep buckling of viscoelastic plates with initial deflections, subjected to axial compressive force is analyzed in the following cases: first, transverse shearing deformation is ignored, second, transverse shearing deformation is considered. An analytical solution of instantaneous and durable critical loads is obtained by solving the governing equations. The effect of transverse shearing deformation on the critical loads is also discussed.
