Abstract

Most algorithms for provisioning survivable multicast sessions in wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) mesh networks are heuristics. These heuristic algorithms may consume some redundant resources. This letter proposes a novel algorithm for reducing these redundant resources. Results from simulations show that the proposed algorithm performs better than existing ones.
