Abstract

This paper presents a universal method of incremental capacity (IC)/differential voltage (DV) curves acquisition for lithium ion batteries based on moving average and empirical mode decomposition (MA-EMD). MA is firstly utilized to smooth the battery voltage and capacity data before applying the numerical derivative. Then, EMD is introduced to process pre-smoothed data. The results show that the proposed MA-EMD method is robust and universal, which is potential to be implemented in battery management system (BMS).
