abstract = "A numerical investigation on acoustic response of a liner excited by grazing incident higher-oder-mode-high-intensity sound waves is carried out to understand the variation of liner response to higher oder modes sources. A liner with seven multi-slit resonators side-by-side mounted parallel on the lower wall of a rectangular duct is simulated by an in-house three dimensional DNS-solver based on computational aeroacoustic methods. Both plane waves and higher order cut-on duct modes in transverse and vertical with identical horizontal incident acoustic energy at a fixed frequency near resonance are excited respectively. Numerical results show that the liner specimen exhibits different acoustic behavior with different grazing incident duct modes. The acoustic performance with higher oder duct modes is better than the fundamental mode.",
