Abstract

In this study, the divergence-free synthetic eddy method (SEM) coupled with the radiation non-reflective boundary condition is implemented to a high order computational aeroacoustics (CAA) solver. The synthetic eddy method is firstly validated with computing the decay of isotropic turbulence. Then the developed code is applied to computed the gust/airfoil interaction benchmark problem to validated the non-reflective boundary condition with source term. Finally, the broadband noise generated from the interaction of the incoming turbulence and a NACA0012 airfoil is simulated. The incoming turbulence is created with the divergence-free SEM and coupled with the non-reflective boundary condition as a source term.
