Abstract

The mechanism of the generation for hot air recirculation and its conception was expounded. The environmental wind fields with different conditions around direct air cooled system of a steam turbine were numerically simulated. The unfavorable wind to the air cooled system was found out and the regulation of hot wind recirculation ratio varied with the wind velocity was presented by analyzing the calculations. Three measures are developed to reduce the hot air recirculation, such as to increase the upper wind-wall height around air cooled platform, to accelerate the rotating speed of the fans near the edge of the air cooled platform, and etc. .
