Abstract

Detailed design and operating method of vaneless counter-rotating turbine (VCRT) are numerical investigated in present paper. Results indicate that the performance of the VCRT might be proper for practical use. Numerical investigations about the control problem in engines, which use this type of VCRT, show that the engine with VCRT can be operated via combining variable throat vane with the method of changing engine exhaust nozzle area.
