Abstract

The composite laminate plate contained the piezoelectric patch bonded to surface or embedded was considered. Based on Kirchhoff hypothesis, the finite element model of the plate with induced strain actuators was built. The optimal shape control of the composite plate was studied and the objective function considering shape control and minimum energy consumption was given. The voltage applied to piezoelectric patch was given by using sequence quadratic programming method. The analytical result of the cantilever plate, as an example, was given and the deflection was compared with the experimental results provided by Crawley, E.F..
