Abstract

A noncoherent multiuser detection algorithm based on successive interference cancellation (SIC) for fast frequency hopping (FFH) multiple-access systems was proposed. The accompanying time-frequency (TF) matrix was calculated based on expectation element selection (EES). The majority row and minimum mean square error of the TF matrix of the desired user were used for pre-detection. If the symbol of interference data was not interfered by other users by estimating the signal interference noise ratio (SINR) of interference data in SIC, the corresponding element in the TF matrix would be zero. Otherwise, the SIC repeated until all the users were recoded accurately. The simplified successive detection was used to resolve the ambiguity users. The simulation shows that this algorithm can cancel the outspread error of Fiebig's detection and have better performance than other multiuser algorithms.
