Multi-resolution simulation framework based on design pattern and base object model

Abstract

There was no general simulation framework for Multi-Resolution Modeling (MRM) at present, and it was difficult to realize the goal of MRM. To address this problem, a general multi-resolution simulation framework was put forward based on flyweight design pattern and Base Object Model (BOM). The thought of flyweight pattern was contained in the MRM based on BOM instance aggregation so that the simulation framework for the MRM could be constructed by using the flyweight pattern. Construction process of this framework was discussed in detail. Application method and effect of the framework were illustrated by an example. The result showed that the framework was applicable to the MRM of homogeneous entity aggregation, and it could optimize the simulation cost and improve the simulation efficiency with high flexibility and scalability.
