Abstract

An approach to motion editing and retargeting based on coordinate descent and displacement mapping was proposed, which resulted in the motion data's adaptability to the change of new environment, and made the same motion data applicable for different human models. Constraint frame posture was solved by cyclic-coordinate descent with physiological constraint condition. Then the system automatically synthesized the corresponding smooth motions sequence by displacement mapping. Experimental results demonstrate the method can hold main feature of source character. Moreover, the retargeted motion is quite smooth and natural.
