Modulation Instability in Parametric Optical Frequency Comb Generators based on Highly Nonlinear and Dispersion-flattened Fiber

Abstract

Modulation instability (MI) in parametric frequency comb generators is theoretically and experimentally investigated. It is confirmed that MI-induced gain can promote comb line generation and cause noise humps with the increasing of fiber length.
