Abstract

Due to the property of amorphous alloy materials featuring low loss at high frequency, their application in the stator core of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) can reduce core loss. However, under high-speed operating conditions, amorphous alloy motors still generate significant losses, causing temperature to rise and having a certain impact on the performance. To accurately calculate stator core loss and suppress the loss, we propose a variable coefficient core loss separation model considering skin effect, temperature, and lamination coefficient, and achieve loss suppression by optimizing the stator structure. Based on the loss model, key structural parameters are screened through sensitivity analysis, and the genetic algorithm is combined to optimize the geometric structure such as stator slot width, slot opening, slot bottom, and air gap length, to achieve the design of minimizing core loss. Finite element analysis and experimental validation are subsequently conducted. The results show that the optimized design reduces core loss by up to 22.4% under no-load conditions, and the maximum error between the theoretical analysis and the experimental results is approximately 8%, verifying the accuracy of the proposed model and the effectiveness of the structural optimization method.
