Abstract

In recent years, cable winding machines have been widely used in various scenarios and also have many applications in the aerospace field. This study uses a variable tension control system to apply constant or varying tension to cables, to equivalently simulate the forces on cables under load conditions. Based on the software design and hardware configuration of the variable tension control system, this article builds an experimental platform for the variable tension control system and conducts a large number of static and dynamic experiments on the variable tension control system. Meanwhile, a buffer component is designed to reduce the fluctuation of cable tension and ensure the accuracy of force tracking. Finally, a combination of feed-forward compensation and PID algorithm closed-loop feedback control is used as a control strategy to regulate the real-time loading tension, which improves the stability and accuracy of the system loading.
