Abstract

In the civil aviation sector, safety requirements for commercial aircraft are exceptionally stringent, with the allowable probability of catastrophic failures constrained below extremely low safety thresholds. Safety verification aims to ensure that the occurrence probabilities of failures across various hazard levels comply with these critical thresholds, whereas reliability verification focuses on evaluating the system's ability to continuously perform its intended functions under specified conditions. Currently, significant overlaps exist between these two verification processes, particularly in environmental stress testing and functional performance assessments. Traditional independent verification strategies often lead to redundant test resource allocation and prolonged testing cycles, which are increasingly inadequate for addressing the complexity arising from the deep hardware-software integration characteristic of modern avionics systems. This study presents a graph-based methodology for constructing integrated test scenarios. Specifically, it analyzes the correlation between flight mission phases and environmental contexts and establishes a system-level fault propagation network. In this model, components of the flight control system are represented as nodes, while fault propagation paths serve as edges. System functions, mission profiles, and testing timelines are mapped into multidimensional scenario tuples. Guided by the directed graph, fault injection timing and content are systematically selected to design three-dimensional scenario tuples and corresponding fault injection configurations. By reusing overlapping test conditions, the proposed approach significantly enhances verification efficiency while maintaining test completeness and reducing overall costs. This methodology offers an innovative framework for the verification of aeronautical electromechanical systems and demonstrates broad applicability for the integrated verification of complex systems in domains with stringent safety requirements.
