Abstract

Considering path loss, shadowing and Rayleigh fading, the time-invariant model of multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) channel is provided for distributed wireless communication system (DWCS), and the corresponding channel capacities with different power allocation schemes are studied. Simulations are conducted to investigate the influences of different channel parameters on channel capacities of DWCS and traditional cellular collocated antenna system (CAS). It is shown that DWCS can make full use of distributed antennas and virtual cell to combat near-far problem and shadowing effect, obtain diversity gains not only from independent large-scale fading but also more effectively from independent small-scale fading among different antenna branches, thus to have larger capacity advantages.
