Methods for high speed high precision machining

Abstract

Aim: To introduce NC programming strategies for high speed machining. Methods: Several methods for how to machine rapidly and accurately are addressed, such as look ahead, expert system, machining in circles and trial cuts, etc. Results and Conclusion: Look-ahead and expert system are methods to adjust feedrate dynamically, machining in circles is a method to boost average feedrate, and trial cuts a method to establish a maximum feedrate for arcs of any radius.
