Abstract
SPIV was applied to a large-scale low-speed compressor facility, the instantaneous velocity and vorticity distributions in several cross sections were successfully measured in the tip region of the compressor rotor at design condition and near stall conditions. Based on the measurement results, this paper analyses the generation, evolution, unsteadiness and breaking of the tip leakage vortex of the compressor rotor at design condition and near stall conditions.
