Abstract
The Ti50Ni48Fe2 alloy was deformed at low temperature (-70°C) and ambient temperature, where the initial states of the samples were pure martensitic phase or austenitic, respectively. The shape memory effect and the reverse transformation temperature were studied on the samples deformed at different temperatures. A maximum shape recovery strain of 5.6% was obtained and the As′ point of the samples deformed at low temperature was raised by about 40°, while a recovery strain of 4% was obtained and the As″ was raised by 55°, rising up to 35°C, in the samples deformed at ambient temperature. An access was approached to the pre-deformation, storage, transportation and installation of components made of Ti50Ni48Fe2 alloy at ambient temperature.
