Abstract

A sampled-data linear and S-shape acceleration/deceleration for industrial robots and CNC machine tools was studied. There is a running stage at low speed for a long time after decelerating because the actual deceleration point does not overlap the theoretical deceleration point. To eliminate it, a deceleration algorithm that the acceleration ad and jerk Jd were recalculated according to the actual residual position was introduced. Moreover, the implementation of the proposed deceleration algorithm in a CNC system shows that the proposed algorithm is practical and effective.
