Abstract

A new light-storing photocatalyst BiOCl/Sr4Al14O25: Eu2+, Dy3+ was prepared by chemically combining BiOCl and phosphor Sr4Al14O25: Eu2+, Dy3+. The light-storing photocatalyst (LSP) can store light irradiation and emit slowly. It remained active when the irradiation source was cut off. Rhodamine B (RhB) can be decomposed efficiently by LSP in the dark after it absorbs light irradiation. It is stable and can be repeatedly used. This light-storing photocatalyst is photoreactive with or without light irradiation.
